How To Take Stay At Home Photos

The Stay At Home order from the government to protect citizens all over the world from COVID-19 has changed the way we work and interact with our friends and family at the moment.

If you happen to be an influencer or content creator and just like taking well photograph images for social media, this tutorial is for you.

Step #1: Find a spot in your house or outside that you want to take photos. You can find this spot by looking around and noticing an interesting background that captures your attention.

Step #2: Find the beauty in that chosen spot by looking for something interesting around it. Look around for some props that you can throw in the background and foreground that will add interest to your finished photos.

Step #3: Find your Style and Aesthetic. Try coordinating your outfit and style with your background and environment. In this tutorial, I was shooting an Easter photo session that showed my outfit and style. So, I choose to explore my backyard for some unique photoshoot opportunities.

Step #4: Try taking your photos with a digital camera beside your phone to capture more professional photos. This tutorial was captured with a Canon Rebel camera. When taking photos by yourself, you can use a tripod or a timing feature on your camera. As you start taking photos, keep moving around and trying different poses that work. Don't worry you can choose the best ones when editing them. If you need some inspiration head over to Pinterest and search "Instagram photo inspiration at home". There you can find poses and suggestions. Just be you.

Step #5: After the photos have been taken, it's time to edit them. For this tutorial, I choose to edit the photos on my phone by using the VSCO app. You can also edit your photos with Photoshop and Lightroom.

Lastly, If you need help editing your finished photos please watch Tutorial #1: How To Edit Phone Photos. If you need help on how to edit photos more professionally or with graphic work, please contact me. I would love to help.
